Stencils for what use ?

The use of our stencils allows you to set up home decorations prestige with simple means and a reasonable price.

The Stencil France site allows for decorative atmospheres using pre-cut, repositionable stickers and high quality exclusive professional stencils. The stencils are suitable for the following uses:
- Mural
- Furniture decor
- Textile decoration
- Decoration on paper and cardboard
- Decoration on metal
- Decor by sandblasting (glass ..)

You can order all the stencils to the exact dimension of the set to decorate. This allows the proper fit stencils when it is necessary that the patterns are interrupted exactly at a given place: this is the case when a harmonious connection between wall friezes and ceiling is desired.

The stencils

Our stencils are self-adhesive and repositionable. Repeated use is possible. Repeated use requires more care, attention and effort and thus time. We recommend that professional decorators often change Stencil: Stencil budget is higher, but the time budget application is greatly reduced!

Stencils are supplied pre-cut but not perforated. It is easy to perforate a stencil. The only tool required is a cutter with which the stencil is laid flat on a smooth surface, you pricked slightly parties to perforate before lifting. These parts come off easily being precut

Our stencils are self-adhesive and repositionable. The tacky surface is directly adapted to application to the textile. When using a particularly smooth surface (such as glass) it may be useful to "tire" the sticky surface before use, so that the stencil is easier to remove after use: you will tire the sticky surface by dabbing carefully it on a textile surface so that the fibers of the textile, by mixing with the adhesive surface, decrease  the tackiness. This moment of preparation can improve your comfort. Do not neglect it!

Life of the stencils

The great strength of our stencils allows a more sustainable life than that obtained with the standard stencils. Moreover, as they are stickers, you no longer have concerns related to the use of repositionable glue, binding with conventional stencils (purchase of additional equipment and cleaning the substrate ) .

The life of the stencil is dependent on usage : for better life of your stencils , we recommend that you use acrylic paints and avoid aggressive paintings, such as paints for car body. Species they contain can literally dry your stencils and you can no longer rely on a single use !

For each stencil we indicate, following fine cutting, its fragility. Greater fragility of the stencil means that you need to deploy more care in its use, that reuse is possible but requires also more care . You will find this ranking against each stencils :

* Simple and robust stencil , easy to openwork and employment , reusable a very large number of times without special precautions. Suitable for beginners and first used as a stencil.

** Technical Stencil, with some delicate bridges, requiring some careful handling. More fragile than a simple stencil , it requires care to be reused as a basic stencil.

*** Difficult stencil, with some very delicate bridges. Fragile, it is not suitable for many though still possible for an expert user of reuses.

**** Stencil not to address first use. Finesse bridges and curves can make the reuse difficult if the stencil is not handled with an utmost care. These stencils give fascinating results by their complexity , but this complexity is gained at the expense of strength. For experts only !

The trick of the professional

If you take a very complex stencils very small you may encounter difficulties in both the use and reuse of the stencil. Instead , the higher your stencil is large , it is more solid and easy to paint and reuse. The only notable exception is the use of stencils on textile : even complex small stencils can be used with relative safety and therefore a number of times .

If you do use stencils still very small on hard materials (wall , wood, cardboard ... ) remember that bridges, very thin, are more fragile than the same stencils used in larger size . To avoid the distortion off bridges in anticipation of a renewed use, you must adapt the adhesion of the stencil to the material on which it will be applied . For masking glass, for example, very adherent because very smooth surface , do not hesitate to tire adhesive stencil using a repeated sticky stencil surface with a lint-free textile touch before application . And the stencil will withdraw more easily and bridges will be spared .
